This oval serving platter (fiamminga) belongs to the Terre e Foglie collection and is made from glazed terracotta, entirely by hand in the Ceramiche Polidori workshop in Pitigliano, Tuscany. The natural colours that characterise each piece, including white, brick red, pink, grey and ochre, come from the research and selection of local clays and materials collected by Roberto Polidori in the hills of the Tuff Area.
The colours are always slightly different from one piece to another, making each object a unique piece of Tuscan handcrafted ceramics. The leaf motifs, including oak, maple and other varieties, are applied to the pieces in an apparently spontaneous and irregular arrangement, creating natural, organic surfaces that evoke the landscape and the rhythms of nature.
Designed to be used and lived with, as well as to make an original gift, this oval platter combines everyday functionality with artistic value, expressing through material, colour and decoration the deep connection between ceramic craftsmanship and the local landscape.
