Catino rinfrescatoio (cooling basin): a traditional medieval form, used to keep wine and drinks cool at the table.
Basin / rinfrescatoio with flat bottom, truncated cone body, and rim.
This basin / rinfrescatoio in mezza maiolica is entirely handmade in our workshop in Pitigliano, Tuscany. The decoration, inspired by the medieval iconographic heritage, is executed in the traditional colours of copper green, manganese, and antique blue, typical of Maiolica Arcaica.
Shapes and decorations recall the medieval tradition, reinterpreted through careful craftsmanship that respects historical techniques. Each piece is born from a manual process that makes every creation unique, with slight variations in shape and colour that attest to its authenticity.
Designed for both daily use and as a decorative element, this is an object capable of combining functionality, historical value, and timeless beauty.
