Piatto a catino (basin plate): a traditional medieval form, a deep plate with a wide flat rim.
ø 39 cm
Plate with a flat rim, rounded edge, and ring base.
This mezza maiolica plate is entirely handmade in our workshop in Pitigliano, Tuscany. The peacock tail decoration, inspired by medieval iconographic heritage, is executed in the traditional copper green, antique blue, and ochre yellow colours, typical of the maiolica of that time.
Shapes and decorations evoke the late medieval tradition, reinterpreted through artisanal craftsmanship that is attentive and respectful of historical techniques. Each piece stems from a manual process that makes every creation unique, with slight variations in shape and colour that attest to its authenticity.
Designed both for daily use and as a decorative element, this is an object capable of combining functionality, historical value, and timeless beauty.
